Rising Star: Shilpan Amin

Posted By GMbeat on Articles - He left his first job as a GM engineer working on steering systems to get his MBA at the University of Southern California. When he returned, he became vehicle systems engineer for interiors on the Saturn Vue and later the Hummer H3. He had responsibility for all program objectives, including cost. In 2007, a mentor, John Calabrese, who later became GM’s top engineering executive, persuaded Amin to beef up his experience through a two-year stint in GM’s massive purchasing division. Nine years later, he’s still there.
