Last week Hendrick Motorsports unveiled its new 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 NASCAR race cars, so we now know what the company's 88, 48, 24, and 9 cars will look like at the start of next season at Daytona. We've got pictures of Alex Bowman's new Nationwide 88 Camaro, courtesy of the team's Twitter acount. The paint scheme an evolutionary, but fresh update with familiar blues and grays and new menacing black "88" numbers affixed to either side of the car. Chevrolet engineers employed an array of tools, including computational fluid dynamics analysis and reduced-scale and full-scale wind-tunnel testing, to optimize aerodynamic performance while maintaining the ZL1's design character.
"It was great to help design the car with Nationwide. Greg and the whole team were involved," Alex Bowman told reporters at the unveiling this past Thursday.
While we're going to miss rooting for Dale Jr. next year, we're looking forward to watching Alex Bowman and his new Camaro tear up the Monster Energy Series circuit!
