Chevrolet updated its workhorse Astro midsize van in 1992 with a couple of new features it hoped would set it apart from the competition and draw more families into showrooms. The highlight was the rear door option you see here. It featured "a one-piece lift-glass for enhanced rearward visibility and easy loading and unloading of small items." But the real treat were the two lower individual half-doors that could be opened outward whenever the lift-glass was in the "up" position. Another new-for-1992 feature: an optional AM/FM stereo radio headunit with seek-scan and CD player.
