2016 Chevrolet Camaro turbo review: Looks good, drives great, ergonomic quibbles remain

Posted By GMbeat on Articles - A Camaro that drives light? Who'd a thunk it, but here we are. Thanks to the Alpha platform and the featherweight turbo four up front, this 2016 RS is closer in driving dynamics to a BMW 2-Series than one of the fat, flaccid F-bodies of yore. Speaking of, if a third-gen Camaro was your last four-banger pony car experience, forget it. This engine may not make this RS the fastest Gen 6, but it's brilliantly flexible, with torque everywhere you need it, plus a slick six-speed stick to get the most of it. Opt for the Brembo package like our tester had and the Camaro stops with some of the best pe

2016 Small Luxury SUV Comparison: Lexus NX, Lincoln MKC, Infiniti QX50 or Mercedes-Benz GLC?

Posted By GMbeat on Articles - While the familiar BMW X3 has been with us since 2004, the compact luxury SUV segment has only really taken shape in the past few years. Nine of the segment's dozen or so entries are still wearing first-generation sheet metal, and the past couple years alone have brought us a total of five new nameplates: Lexus NX, Lincoln MKC, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Porsche Macan and the very new 2017 Jaguar F-Pace. We recently grabbed a cross-section of these increasingly popular vehicles and set out on a 500-mile road trip to evaluate everything from cruising comfort to infotainment intuitiveness.

(Almost) Looks Like a Chevrolet Camaro, Goes Like a Rocket

Posted By GMbeat on Articles - Many a Chevrolet Camaro found its way to a drag strip: ever since the car was launched in the sixties up until today, this musclecar has been associated with straight-line speed and quarter-mile accelerations, a hobby perfected in America.

GM: Pollution control changes caused SUV mileage drop

Posted By GMbeat on Articles - Owners of some 2016 models may receive some compensation, because a change in pollution control hardware between model years cut the gas mileage on some General Motors SUVs and forced it to correct the figures on window stickers. GM announced last week that the fuel economy was overstated by one-to-two miles per gallon on the 2016 GMC Acadia, Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave. But Consumer Reports magazine questioned why the 2016 mileage would be worse than the 2015 models when little was changed between model years and the SUVs from each year had the same engines and transmissions.

2016 Buick Cascada Demand Exceeds Supply

Posted By GMbeat on Articles - After three consecutive years in which sales have gone up on a global level, Buick is hoping that the new Cascada can help steady the company's growth as more than 35,000 new customers have already bought a Buick this year. According to the automaker, 64% of Cascada buyers have traded in vehicles not just from outside the brand but outside any General Motors brand. Interestingly enough, ex-Audi, Toyota and Honda customers have been the most common as demand for the Cascada has outpaced supply with 2,487 sales through April.

Ford GT EcoBoost V-6 Might Be Offered as Crate Engine

Posted By GMbeat on Articles - If you were one of the 6,000 buyers interested in the new Ford GT whose application will be rejected, there might still be hope yet.  Autocar reports that there might be a future possibility of finding the high-output EcoBoost V-6 from the Ford GT under the hood of small-batch production sports cars.

GM says it’s first to weld steel to aluminum

Posted By GMbeat on Articles - A new technique will be used on the Cadillac CT6 built at Detroit-Hamtramck.  General Motors believes it is the first automaker to weld steel to aluminum, a technique it spent some two years developing and expects will save weight and be less expensive. The automaker said Wednesday that within a few months it will deploy welded steel to aluminum joinings on a seatback for the Cadillac CT6 luxury vehicle and shortly thereafter on a CT6 hood reinforcement (a steel pedestrian protection reinforcement will be welded to an aluminum hood inner panel).

GM to compensate crossover buyers for mpg error

Posted By GMbeat on Articles - General Motors is hashing out a plan to compensate nearly 170,000 owners of 2016 model large crossovers purchased with window stickers that overstated their fuel economy, just as the first lawsuit over the matter was filed in federal court.

Cadillac's NYC Art and Fashion House Is Designed to Lure Customers Without the Hard Sell

Posted By GMbeat on Articles - Many brands are ditching traditional marketing tactics and creating interactive spaces to connect with potential customers, minus the sales pitch. And the latest example is Cadillac House, a permanent space highlighting the brand's intersection with art, fashion and design. Coffee, clothing, and, oh yeah, cars!
